I finally got around to painting a female cardinal.  Her plumage was much more complex than the her male counterpart.  I think I did a fair job at capturing the subtlety and variations.

I have begun a larger painting now.  This one is a 12"x24" oil on canvas.  

I am enjoying working on a larger surface, but still working with a familiar subject - The Carolina Wren.
